WHY UNDERSTANDING YOUR NEEDS WILL MAKE YOU HAPPY

6 KEY THOUGHTS - UNDERSTANDING YOUR NEEDS BEFORE GROWING YOUR TEAM

  • WHY NOW

  • WHAT DO I NEED

  • WHO DO I NEED

  • WHAT WILL THEY DO

  • HOW WILL IT WORK

  • HOW WILL I FEEL

WHEN SHOULD I START TO ADD TO MY TEAM

I am often asked this question and these are the points I ask my clinic owners to ponder on before we formulate any plans.

Why now?

Thinking of your brand and the business you are building, how would bringing someone else on enhance this?

What team members do you need - Do you need admin or hands on clinicians?

Be clear on what you need help with, experience, skills or knowledge.

What do you want to delegate that will save you time or overwhelm?

Always make it clear what your expectations are and what the role will involve?

If you are going to hire for delegating tasks, will you be setting boundaries and goals?

Always take into account that delegating allows you to focus on your strengths but first be very clear on those strengths, then be clear on your weaknesses, as it is these you really will need help with.

Always listen to feedback and take it all onboard, unemotionally, you will always find a message in the comments.

Only take on help if it is going to assist you with growth in your chosen direction.

Managing people is not overwhelming or intimidating if everyone knows the guidelines and boundaries, so be clear honest and communicative on your reasons for growing your team.

Create a time line for growth, how many team members do you need long term?

Most importantly ask yourself, can I afford this move or do I need to plan.

Now take the time to have a deep conversation with yourself so you can design your perfect team.
What will your role be and how will it change long term now you have help.
